SOME THOUGHTS ON DIGIMON TRI 3rd MOVIE : CONFESSION

Helloooo everyone, I am sorry for being so late to post

but the good thing is that I had a whole lotta time to catch up on mangas and animes on my list so updates will be more frequent as I will try to put my thoughts down regarding the stuff that I have watched.

The most recent anime in my mind is obviously digimon tri's third movie: confession. If you haven't checked it out, here's the trailer:
Digimon is special to me because it basically represents my childhood and all the things good regarding it. There was and still is nothing which I love more than digimon (pretty sure that's not gonna change anytime soon).

But I should mention that I loved only the first two seasons of the franchise, after that it kinda deteriorated a lot in terms of both ideas and its execution. But its a topic for later debates and discussions.

Now, for an important question- why didn't I review or give my thoughts on the first two movies and the answer is simply because I didn't particularly like it. Even though I get that those two movies were just setting up the plot for the third movie, but I felt that it kinda lacked something- mainly that I couldn't connect emotionally to the cause of the characters sufferings and dilemmas. It felt like it was made without any coherent ideas and that the series was mainly rebooted to cash in on the nostalgia of the fans.

But one thing which I really loved were of course the digimons who are as adorable and powerful as ever. In the first two, we got to see the mega evolutions of Lilymon and Zudomon to Rosemon and Vikemon. It finally satisfied a lot of fans who were waiting precisely for that and the combination of 'braveheart' and 'butterfly' provided the biggest nostalgia punch. I gotta admit, the re-vamped version does sound better.

Now, onto the third movie- what did I like the most about it? To put it simply-
The emotional conflict. I also loved how at the end
*spoilers*

when all the digimons were trying their hardest to protect their partners, the portrayal of sacrifice came through beautifully and obviously the kid's return to digiworld sets up the tone for the next movie wonderfully.

I remember that at the end of season 1, Taichi hopes that he would be able to visit the digiworld again and I love how it actually happens with all the old gang present. I know that they did visit it in season 2, but there is a charm in them visiting it together without the other kids.

So yeah, that pretty much sums up my experience of watching it and the fact that I bawled like a baby at the end.

So Bye for now.

NORAGAMI

LIGHT THE WAY YUKINE!!

Anime has always held a big attraction for me and thus, when I was recommended by a fellow anime watcher of this gem, I simply took a leap of faith with this and boy! I wasn't disappointed a bit.

The balance of both the shounen and shoujo genres are done brilliantly. In the case of shounen- it is action packed with an original and absolutely head-banging original music. As for shoujo- it leaves bits for crumbs for the watchers so that you are not hungry but never full as well.

Noragami means Stray God and it tells the story of Yato, an virtually unknown god and his exploits and journey with his regalia Yukine. The concept of gods being righteous and always correct is severely questioned along with their supposed 'all powerful' nature. The anime also has a stellar cast of supporting secondary characters whose different personalities give depth to the story line and bring new elements to it.

Brought to you by studio bones and adapted from the manga of the same name by adachitoka, this is one anime which will definitely grab your attention.

I hugely recommend watching this, even to the anime virgins. They will definitely not be disappointed.

So, its goodbye for now. Bye.

Absolutely High on This

I know that I am lousy on updates and I am really sorry for it but real life is a real pain in the a*s sometimes.

So to make up for it I am going to recommend something to you guys which you just cannot miss and that is the absolutely brilliant series called Man In The High Castle.

Here is the trailer for it:

It is adapted by Frank Spotnitz from the book of the same name by Philip K. Dick and it stars Alexa Davalos, Rupert Evans, Luke Kleintank in lead roles.

Summary: It takes place in an dystopian past where USA not only lost the second world war but it also lost its freedom to Germany and Japan. It is here that the question of what if? what could have happened lingers in our minds and provides brilliant food for thought.

It is quite probably the best thing that is currently being shown on TV. Along with great convincing acting, the locales of the past are absolutely breathtaking and provide constant visual orgasms. All in all, give this awesome tvseries a try, you will certainly not be disappointed.

So see you all next time everyone. Bye.

TV series to watch

FORWARD FRIDAYS.

Well, for most of the previous week I was deeply engrossed and addicted to some really good TV series and I thought I would share it with you guys as well (so that you can binge-watch them this weekend and forget that you have a life!)

First up is:
1. SCORPION
I am really addicted to this show and cannot wait for more episodes.  The show is about 5 geniuses who have really IQ's and they are led by Walter O'Brien who has an IQ of 197, which is presumably the fourth highest in the world  (The show is inspired by life of Walter O'Brien who is the head of scorpion computers)
The show is fast-paced and filled with tech jargon which I love (because I'mama nerd, even though I don't understand a lot of it), the leads also have good chemistry which makes the show more 'human' and believable.

2. THE LIBRARIANS
This show is the complete anti thesis of the above show. This show is full of mystery, suspense and silliness which kind of makes it more appealing. The characters are wildly different from each other which makes the team dynamics more interesting to watch.

3. DA VINCI'S DEMONS
I watched it awhile back and It is one of the best out there- mystery, politics, love, sex, betrayal and in the midst of all that is da vinci. Even though it is a highly fictionalized version, but it is thoroughly entertaining and will keep you on the edge of your seats.

That's it for today guys, have a great weekend.

Bye.

MONDAY MADNESS

Hey guys,so I am finally back from my winter vacations and the good news is that I had time to catch up on many movies.
So,without much ado, let's get on it.

1. ROOM

Director: Lenny Abrahamson
Starring: Brie Larson, Jacob Trembley

This is the trailer:

Room is one of this year's leading Oscar contender and has already received Golden Globe nominations for best actress and best motion picture.
The movie centres around a young mom (ma) and her five year old boy (jack), who live in a single room with the bare commodities. Jack's mother was taken captive by her perpetrator almost 5 years ago and since then she hasn't properly seen or experienced the outside world and neither has jack. So, the biggest challenge which they face together is integrating themselves with the outside world.
Absolutely heart warming, the movie explores the themes of strength, exploration and the never give up spirit.
 Thank you for watching

Bye for now.
